What is Sanrokan?

Sanrokan is a deeply ingrained cultural practice among Romblon communities where bowls of food—and now, ideas—are offered to neighbors and passersby in the spirit of community, generosity, and hospitality.

In commemoration of International Mother Language Day and the IDIL 2022-2032, this festival brings together leaders, educators, and culture bearers to showcase advances in achieving the 2030 SDGs through inclusive governance.

Awareness

Raising awareness on the Action Plan for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages.

Exchange

Evaluating the state of health of Philippine languages in governance and education.

Strategy

Formulating concrete local plans to respond to challenges marginalizing first languages.

Cooperation

Forging strategic alliances among stakeholders to protect indigenous linguistic rights.
